What happens in this phase

We choose the right microbial chassis for your molecule and engineer it to express: pathway design, genetic stability, and tolerance to the real stresses of fermentation, not just a shake flask. Strains are built and iterated against defined, quantitative performance targets.

How we add unique value

Because we own every downstream stage, we engineer for producibility from the very first edit, selecting hosts and constructs we know will hold up through process development and scale-up. You avoid the classic trap of a star bench strain that collapses the moment it hits a bioreactor.

What happens in this phase

Candidate molecules move through fast, structured design-build-test cycles (small-scale expression, screening, and analytical characterization) to establish that a molecule actually performs and can be reproduced before anyone commits to a longer, costlier program.

How we add unique value

Our loops are tuned to answer the make-or-break questions first. You get an early, honest read on feasibility and a clean data package to back a confident go / no-go, saving months and capital on the programs that were never going to scale, and accelerating the ones that will.

What happens in this phase

We develop and refine the bioprocess itself (media and feed strategy, fermentation parameters, and downstream recovery), driving titer, yield, and batch-to-batch consistency up while pulling cost of goods down. Every change is measured against a defined analytical baseline.

We optimize for scale and economics, not just bench yield. Parameters are chosen to translate cleanly onto larger equipment, so the process you validate is the process you can actually manufacture, with a transparent cost model attached, so there are no surprises when volumes grow.

What happens in this phase

We produce your molecule at pilot scale, in batches at 100 L and under, under defined process controls, generating scale-representative material and the analytical data your team needs for testing, evaluation, and validation.

Pilot runs are where scale-up risk actually shows itself. We put real material and real data in your hands to validate the product and the market before you commit to full-scale capital, and we document each run so it carries cleanly into a regulated manufacturing environment later.

What happens in this phase

When you're ready to grow beyond our pilot suite, we package everything (process, controls, and documentation) into a manufacturing-ready tech transfer, and can stay on to manage the relationship with your large-scale CDMO or facility through the first commercial campaigns.
